Survey Creator is a feature of PubAssist FTP that allows you to create and implement a customized product-specific survey. This survey is available through product documentation by displaying a Survey Ribbon.

What is a Ribbon?

Ribbons are a diagonal ribbon placed in one of the corners of a web page to grab the attention of the user.

Survey Ribbons are a feature of InfoDev WebHelp that are displayed when a survey is created for the documentation. This allows a product team to gather information directly from the readers.

How it works

Code within the webhelp transformations allow for the Survey Ribbon to be displayed. By default the ribbon is not shown.

Each time a page is displayed, it runs code to determine if a particular file, survey.php, is in the documentation folder. If not, nothing is displayed. If the file exists, the blue ribbon is displayed in the upper right corner of the browser.
